Dr. Goh Liang Chye is a fellowship-trained Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgeon at Universiti Malaya, known for building two of the institution's most demanding clinical service lines: sleep apnea surgery/medicine and robotic ENT surgery. He holds dual fellowships in Sleep Medicine and Sleep Surgery (Singapore General Hospital) and Head and Neck Surgery (Universiti Malaya), with advanced training at Stanford, University of Pennsylvania, SingHealth Duke-NUS, and Kyung Hee University. As Head of the Sleep Division, he built UMMC's sleep apnea service and trains residents and fellows in sleep surgery. As Head Coordinator of Robotic Surgical Services, he led the launch of UMMC's transoral robotic surgery (TORS) programme, and is a certified da Vinci Xi practitioner and proctor. He founded the Malaysian Multidisciplinary Sleep Conference (MMSC), sits on the EXCO of the Sleep Disorder Society of Malaysia, chairs the Sleep Apnea Special Interest Group (College of Otorhinolaryngologists, AMM), and coordinates the National ORL-HNS Postgraduate Examinations 2026. His record includes multiple peer-reviewed publications, a co-edited Springer textbook (Sleep Surgery in a Nutshell, 2026), two national patents, the World Sleep Society Distinguished Activity Award (2023, 2024), and Universiti Malaya's Certificate of Excellent Service (2024). He is an international keynote speaker and Clinical Director for Special Olympics Malaysia.
