Mohd Istajib bin Mokhtar was born on March 3, 1985 in Melaka. 2008: Received his Bachelor in Shariah (Shariah and Law) (first class honours with distinction) and a recipient of Royal Education Award. 2009: Appointed as a research assistant at Department Of Shariah and Law, University of Malaya and started his Master’s degree in the field of Islamic Socio-Legal studies. 2011: Awarded top three best Master’s thesis by Nurul Yaqeen Foundation in conjunction with Piala Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yasin Best Thesis Competition at national level.  In 2011 he also started his Doctoral studies specializes in the field of Islamic legal ethics. 2012: Participated in World Islamic Science & Education University (WISE) research program in Jordan. 2013: Received further research training from Islamic University of Medina, Saudi Arabia. His current research focuses on Islamic Law and Environmental. For example, Humanities & Ethics cluster, Humanities and the Environment (HUME): Islam & the Environment project and UMRG Project “The utilization of water from the context of Islamic law and environmental preservation.” He has presented his research in several international conferences such as Multidisciplinary Conference, International Journal of Arts and Sciences (IJAS) in Vienna, Austria, The 3rd Comprehensive Symposium: Research and Education Center for the Risk Based Asian Oriented Integrated Watershed Management, Kyoto, Jepun and The 9th Asia Pacific Sociological Association (APSA) International Conference in Bali, Indonesia. He was the secretary of International Conference on Research in Islamic Law (ICRIL) and Head Secretariat of Malaysia-Sweden Crash Course Program. Appointed as advisor to University Malaya Orator Club since 2010, President of Postgraduate Students’ Association of APIUM since 2013 and Assistant Fellow at University of Malaya Fifth Residential College starting early 2014.
