Dr. Ina is a Professor of Anaesthesiology. She is the head of Medical Education Unit in Faculty of Medicine, UM. She holds dual Masters in Anaesthesiology and Medical Education, a pairing that defines her life's work. Her clinical expertise spans paediatric anaesthesia, advanced airway management, and patient blood management. She is the founding member of the UMMC Paediatric Liver Transplant Programme. Beyond peer-reviewed publications, she holds two patents and four copyrights in anaesthesia and acute care. Her integration of Basic Life Support training for Malaysian youth earned her ‘the Ronald Harden Innovation in Medical Education Award’ and ‘the Rogayah Jaafar Award for Innovation in Health Professions Education’. She shapes policy, trains leaders, and raises the standard of care, regionally and globally during her roles as the President of the Malaysian College of Anaesthesiologists, the Malaysian Society of Anaesthesiologists and the Malaysian Society of Paediatric Anaesthesiologists, founding EXCO of the Malaysia PBM Society, and President-Elect of the Asian Society of Paediatric Anaesthesia. She is founding faculty for the WFSA Global Leadership in Anaesthesia programme, reflecting her commitment to building leadership capacity across the global anaesthesia community.
