Ar. Dr. Hazrina is an academic and registered architect with a career dedicated to excellence in teaching, impactful research, and professional engagement. Her work integrates academic rigour with real-world relevance, aligning with Universiti Malaya’s mission for global competitiveness and societal impact. With experience across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, she adopts a responsive, industry-informed pedagogy. She has led design studios, contributed to curriculum development, and incorporated digital tools and real-world case studies. Her effectiveness is reflected in strong student feedback and her appointment as a curriculum key person. Dr. Hazrina’s research focuses on spatial analysis, social equity, and architectural environments, using space syntax as a core method. As PI of nationally funded projects, she has explored low-income housing, youth wellbeing, and learning environments, producing outcomes with both academic and practical value. Beyond UM, she is active in the wider academic and professional community. She has served as guest lecturer, and assessor at institutions such as UTM, USM, Taylor’s, and universities in Indonesia. She was recently awarded Fellowship (FHEA) by Advance HE effective 1st July 2025. As a registered Professional Architect under LAM,PAM and ICOMOS member, she connects academic work with practice and heritage dialogues, supporting UM’s KPIs and broader goals.
