Dr Fadzilah Hanum Mohd Mydin is a Family Medicine consultant and academic at Universiti Malaya, specialising in geriatrics in primary care, lifestyle medicine, mental health, and health systems innovation. Her research addresses critical yet often overlooked issues affecting older adults, including abuse of older people, advance care planning, social isolation, and mental health. She also explores healthy ageing, health behaviours, and the use of digital tools to improve access and quality of care. She has developed context-sensitive training and clinical guidelines for healthcare practitioners through the Prevent Elder Abuse Initiatives (PEACE®). Her doctoral work focused on educational interventions to address the abuse of older people in primary care. Her research has received recognition, including awards at the 2014 WONCA Asia Pacific Conference and the 2025 Pierre Pluye International Award. She has also led digital health innovations, winning awards at the Malaysia Technology Expo and the International Innovation Awards. She is the co-chair of the WONCA Special Interest Group on Family Violence and a member of the WONCA Special Interest Group on Healthy Ageing. She supervises postgraduate students and contributes to policy, practice, and community engagement, including leading the Walk with A Doc initiative in Petaling Jaya.
