Rafidah Md Noor is a Professor of Computer Science at Universiti Malaya with over 25 years of experience in Intelligent Transportation Systems, IoT, Federated Learning and digital transformation. She previously served as Director of QMEC and Head of the Centre for Mobile Cloud Computing Research (C4MCCR), and has held several senior academic leadership positions at Universiti Malaya. Her research focuses on translating advanced computing research into real-world solutions for smart transportation, road safety, sustainable mobility and smart cities. She has secured over RM3 million in research funding, holds patents and copyrights in intelligent transportation technologies, and led the RM1 million MATRADE ITEP digitalisation blueprint project. Her achievements include the Malaysia's Research Star Award (MRSA) 2025, Grand Prize (Gold/Champion) in the UMPSA × Huawei Mobile App Competition 2025, and numerous national and international innovation awards. She has published over 100 SCIE-indexed papers, with H-index 38 (Scopus) and 29 (Web of Science), and is ranked among the Top 5% of scientists globally by the Global Scientist Index. She also contributes extensively to national and international academic quality assurance, serving as an external assessor, programme accreditation evaluator, external examiner and curriculum reviewer for universities in Malaysia and overseas, strengthening academic standards, curriculum quality and technology talent development.
