Dr. Faiz is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Computer Systems & Technology, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Malaya. He holds an MSc in Web Science and Big Data Analytics from University College London (2017) and a PhD in Network Analytics from Universiti Malaya (2022). Currently, Dr. Faiz serves as the Director of the Data and Information Management Centre under the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development) since February 2024. In this role, he leads the university’s data warehousing solution to improve accessibility, ensure integrity, and strengthen data governance. He is also a core member of the university’s Center for Research in Cybersecurity and Networking (CSNET), with expertise at the intersection of big data analytics and networking. His research emphasizes network traffic classification, with a growing focus on real-time analytics using edge computing and federated learning. His key domains of expertise include computer networking, alongside big data architecture, analytics, and cybersecurity. Dr. Faiz also holds professional networking certifications (CCNA, HCIA) and actively contributes to the IEEE Computer Society and Cybersecurity Academia Malaysia (CSAM). In addition, he has published extensively in high-impact journals, advancing knowledge and delivering practical solutions in data-driven networking and cybersecurity to strengthen research and institutional capacity
