PROFESSOR IR. DR. MOHD FAIZUL BIN MOHD SABRI

I am a Professor and Deputy Dean (Research and Innovation) at the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaya. I am a registered Professional Engineer (PEng) with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and an ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE). I previously served as President of the Malaysian Thermoelectric Society and as Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering (2016–2019). I also serve as a programme examiner for the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) Malaysia, contributing to the quality assurance of engineering education nationally. My research focuses on energy materials, electronics packaging (solder alloys), and MEMS. I have published over 200 journal articles indexed in Web of Science and Scopus, two books, and ten book chapters, and I hold seven patents in these areas. This work has attracted over 5,600 citations with an h-index of 37 (Scopus, July 2026). I have delivered eight keynote addresses and fifteen invited talks at local and international conferences. I have secured research funding totalling RM13.7 million, of which RM1.7 million was as principal investigator. I have supervised more than 40 postgraduate students and examined over 30 PhD and 26 Master's theses. I serve as a reviewer for more than 35 journals and as an evaluator for national and international research funding applications.
