Associate Professor Dr. Jacob John is a Prosthodontist and Dental Educator with over 25 years of experience in clinical practice, teaching, and research. He obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1994, Master’s in Prosthodontics in 1997, and Master’s in Medical Education from Universiti Malaya in 2023. Currently serving at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya since 2009, he has also held teaching and clinical appointments in India and Indonesia. Dr. Jacob has supervised numerous postgraduate and doctoral students in Prosthodontics, Oral Sciences, and Dental Education. His research interests include Prosthodontics, Geriatric Dentistry, and Dental Education, with over 50 international publications, an H-index of 15, and more than 1,800 citations. He holds leadership roles as Honorary Secretary of the Asian Academy of Prosthodontics, founding chair of the Asean Geriatric Dentistry Network, and Board Member of both the Federation of Special Care Dentistry (India) and the American Society for Geriatric Dentistry. A Fellow of the International Association for Disability and Oral Health (iADH), Dr. Jacob also serves as Clinical Director for Special Olympics Malaysia – Special Smiles. His dedication to community outreach and education was recognized with the prestigious Jan Andersson-Norinder Travel Award in 2016.
