Professor Ir. Dr. Ching Yern Chee is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Universiti Malaya and a distinguished researcher in advanced and sustainable materials. She obtained her degree in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). She is a Chartered Engineer registered with the Engineering Council, United Kingdom, and a Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia. In 2026, she was elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia. Her research focuses on polymer nanocomposites, bionanocomposite coatings, biomaterials, and functional materials, with a strong emphasis on sustainability. She has made significant contributions to the development of biocomposites derived from agricultural residues for high-value, environmentally friendly applications. Her work integrates material innovation with sustainability, advancing high-performance and environmentally responsible solutions across biomedical, industrial, and technological sectors.
