DR. CHERISH HOW

Cherish How is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English Language at the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, Universiti Malaya. She teaches and supervises students in the fields of pragmatics and discourse studies. Her publications include research articles and book chapters on speech acts, impoliteness, and media discourse. Her current research involves interdisciplinary work on ageing communities, particularly projects related to dementia care and family caregiving. Her research interests include language use in healthcare and caregiving contexts, communication challenges faced by older adults and their caregivers, and the role of discourse in promoting community well-being.
