Associate Professor Dr. Chen Yeng is an expert in cancer biomarker discovery, biosensor development, and natural therapeutics. Her multidisciplinary research bridges nanotechnology, molecular biology, and biomedicine, with a strong focus on developing innovative diagnostic tools and personalized therapies for cancer and infectious diseases. Dr. Chen’s work on immunogenic host proteins and nanobiosensors — including designs using gold nanoparticles and zinc oxide nanolayers — has advanced early disease detection for conditions such as cancers and infecious diseases. She also investigates natural plant extracts for cancer therapy, focusing on their molecular mechanisms, including apoptosis induction, microRNA modulation, and protective properties against chronic diseases. Beyond research, Dr. Chen has graduated over 20 postgraduate students, including 12 PhD candidates, and plays an active role in nurturing future scientific leaders. As a peer reviewer for high-impact journals and a leader in dental education accreditation, she contributes to maintaining research quality and academic standards. Dr. Chen’s research collaborations with industry partners have helped translate scientific discoveries into real-world healthcare applications, including rapid diagnostic tools and personalized treatments, advancing patient care and public health.
