Associate Professor Dr. Azwatee Abdul Aziz is the Head of the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya. She obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Adelaide in 1999, followed by a Master of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics from the Eastman Dental Institute, University College London in 2004. She completed her PhD at the Universiti Malaya in 2019. Dr. Azwatee is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education, currently coordinating the Integrated Cariology Module and Operative Dentistry teaching for senior dental students. She is also contributing as an examiner for the Restorative Specialty Membership Examinations under the Royal College of Surgeons of England and was recently elected as a Member of the Faculty of Dental Trainers (MFDT RCSEd), Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Her research focuses on dental education, dental materials, dental erosion, and dental application of optical coherence tomography in dentistry. She has authored and reviewed numerous publications in both local and international journals and has supervised various research projects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She is an active member of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) and a lifetime member of the Malaysian Association for Prosthodontics (MAP).
