Mdm. Azrin Md Kasim is a Senior Research Officer at the University of Malaya Centre for Civilisational Dialogue (UMCCD). She holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) in Electrical Engineering (Microelectronics) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and a Master in Management from the Graduate School of Business, University of Malaya (UM). At UMCCD, Mdm. Azrin plays a pivotal role in advancing research on interfaith dialogue, harmony in diversity, intercivilizational dialogue, and intercultural engagement. Her portfolio also extends to diverse projects in data analytics, capacity building, sustainability, waste management, and benchmarking research management, reflecting her versatility and commitment to multidisciplinary impact. She was previously appointed as Task Force Assistant for MyRA® Assessment by the Department of Higher Education (JPT), Ministry of Higher Education (KPT), where she provided expert consultation and institutional support. Her extensive knowledge in data management and institutional evaluation has led to invitations to serve on national-level committees assessing the impact of research management across Malaysia. With over 15 years of experience in research management, Mdm. Azrin has built a strong track record in internal research funding administration, overseeing pre- and post-award processes, supporting Cluster Deans in strategic planning, and guiding researchers through grant applications. During her tenure at the UM Research Cluster (2009–2019), she also spearheaded training programs and workshops on proposal writing and grant review, strengthening UM’s research ecosystem. Her ability to combine strategic foresight, operational expertise, and collaborative leadership has made her a trusted figure in shaping research directions under the portfolio of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation). Mdm. Azrin’s career exemplifies dedication to advancing research excellence, fostering inclusivity, and driving institutional growth.
