Azah Anir Norman is an Associate Professor and Chief Digital Officer at Universiti Malaya (UM), Malaysia. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), her master’s in electronic commerce security from Royal Holloway University of London (2004), and her Ph.D. from UM (2014). Her expertise covers information security management systems (ISMS), privacy and human factors in security, security governance, social platform security, and e-commerce security. She is also deeply interested in Islamic ICT (including Halal and Quran authentication), design thinking, and teaching and learning innovations. Azah has published widely in ISI and SCOPUS-indexed journals on information security governance, trust, privacy, assurance, education awareness, and policy. Before entering academia, she worked with MSC Trustgate.com—a collaboration between MDEC and VeriSign Inc., delivering internet security solutions for top 500 companies. She contributes to national and international standards through the WG/G/5-1 Information Security Management System group (Department of Standards Malaysia) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). She is an active member of the Association of Information Systems (AIS) and MyAIS, and serves as Secretary of the Cybersecurity Academia Malaysia Association (CSAM). In 2018, she received the prestigious Royal Academy of Engineering (UK) Leaders of Innovation Award.
