Dr. Atifah binti Ahmad Yusoff is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Aqidah and Islamic Thought, Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya, with expertise in Comparative Religion, Islamic Thought, and socio-religious harmony. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences (Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS), an M.A. in Islamic Thought (Universiti Malaya), and a B.Eng. (Hons) in Process Plant Engineering (UTP).Her research portfolio focuses on interfaith engagement, religious tolerance (tasamuh), and countering Islamophobia. She is Principal Investigator for the Model Pedagogi Interaksi Antara Penganut Agama (UMREG) and Co-Researcher for the Implementasi Konsep Tasamuh (UMGTR) and Kajian Islamofobia di Malaysia. She also co-developed the Piagam Harmoni Malaysia with IKIM.Dr. Atifah’s work on the Socio-Religious Harmony Index (SRHI) has been published in Scopus-indexed journals, presented at international conferences, and applied in policy discussions. She is an Associate Member of the UM Centre for Civilisational Dialogue and a sought-after resource person for national harmony initiatives, government consultations, and media commentary.With experience supervising diverse postgraduate research in interfaith pedagogy, sectarianism, and moral development, Dr. Atifah bridges scholarship and societal impact, championing peacebuilding in Malaysia’s multi-religious context and beyond.
