DR. ATA' HANIFEE BIN ZAWAWI

Dr. Ata Hanifee is a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Malaya (UM) whose professional ethos is defined by acting as a bridge between disparate academic disciplines. Drawing on 15 years of award-winning theatrical experience, he seamlessly merges artistic practice with academic theory to drive innovation in higher education and the Malaysian creative industry. His interdisciplinary scholarship specializes in cross-medium Adaptation Studies, utilizing experiential pedagogy to cultivate intercultural empathy. In the realm of emerging technologies, Dr. Ata champions Ethical AI in Higher Education by serving on the university’s AI Module Taskforce, where he designs pedagogical strategies that integrate generative AI while safeguarding student cognitive ownership. Across all these initiatives, he applies a model of collaborative academic leadership. As an inclusive, consensus-driven leader, he is fiercely dedicated to forging international partnerships, building creative labs, and elevating localized Malaysian cultural narratives to the global stage.
