Dr. Asiful Habib is a Lecturer at the Universiti Malaya Power & Energy Dedicated Advanced Centre (UM–UMPEDAC), Universiti Malaya, Malaysia, specialising in electrical machine design, renewable energy, electric vehicles (EVs), and intelligent condition monitoring. He earned his PhD from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) in 2024, pioneering the design and experimental validation of a multi-stage, multi-phase, fully coreless axial-flux permanent-magnet generator. His key achievement is the successful development of a 1.3 kW laboratory prototype, supported by a patent application for its innovative design. Dr. Habib has extensive expertise in electromagnetic modelling using ANSYS Maxwell, hardware prototyping, and experimental performance evaluation. His research advances high-performance electrical machines, rare-earth-free motor technologies, multi-phase fault-tolerant systems, and AI-driven predictive maintenance for electric mobility. His academic contributions include internationally indexed journal publications, IEEE conference papers, and book chapters. He has also contributed to research laboratory development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and practical engineering training. Through his research and innovation, Dr. Habib is committed to developing energy-efficient electrical machines, reliable EV technologies, and sustainable power and energy solutions.
