Azlan Shah Ali is a distinguished academic and practitioner in building surveying and construction management. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Building Surveying and serves as Dean, Faculty of Built Environment. He holds a PhD with specialised expertise in building refurbishment. Joining UM in 2004, he was promoted to Professor in July 2013. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors,UK and the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia. Prof. Azlan is a Visiting Professor at Liverpool (LJMU), UK and Tashkent University (TUACE), Uzbekistan, actively contributing to international academic collaboration and brings with him valuable industry experience gained since 1998. Prof. Azlan has an extensive research and consultancy portfolio securing more than RM10 million in funding. His international collaborations include software development projects with the Spanish firm CYPE exceeding RM2.5 million, as well as major BCA projects with the Ministry of Health worth nearly RM5 million. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed works and received multiple awards.
