Pei Soo Ang (PhD, Macq.) currently serves as Director of Academic Programme Management Centre at the Academic Strategic Planning Department, a portfolio under the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Office (Academic and International). She previously held the position of Deputy Dean (Higher Degree) at the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics from 2022 to 2024 and was a Visiting Faculty member at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta during the same period. In her academic capacity, she is Associate Professor in the English Language Department, Faculty of Languages and Linguistics. Her research interests span disability and health discourses, critical disability studies, critical discourse studies, social semiotics, and visual communication. Her current research focuses on the representation and construction of disability and health discourses in Malaysian media, drawing on a critical semiotic framework and a multi-perspectival methodological approach.
