Dr. Amirah Shazana Binti Magli is a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Malaya and a financial literacy researcher in Malaysia specialising in digital financial literacy, behavioural financial inclusion, financial well-being and B40 (low-income) household economic resilience. Her research focuses on how financial knowledge, consumer behaviour, digital finance adoption and socio-economic vulnerability influence the financial decisions of individuals, families and low-income households. Her work is strongly positioned within financial literacy Malaysia, digital financial inclusion, personal finance behaviour, consumer financial behaviour Malaysia and household financial resilience. She examines how B40 (low-income) households and vulnerable communities access, understand and use financial tools, including digital financial services, FinTech platforms and AI-enabled financial ecosystems. Dr. Amirah’s current research explores AI-driven FinTech adoption, digital financial literacy and financial well-being in Malaysia and emerging economies. Her work contributes to policy-oriented discussions on financial vulnerability, financial education, inclusive digital finance and equitable economic development, with particular attention to how digital tools can support better money management, financial health and long-term household stability. Beyond financial literacy and inclusion, she is involved in interdisciplinary research related to sustainable development, inclusive innovation, circular economy and community sustainability. Her broader academic agenda supports Malaysia’s and ASEAN’s transition towards a more financially literate, digitally inclusive and economically resilient society.
