Dr Aliff Syazaryl Aiman Azhar is a Lecturer in Paediatric Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya. He obtained his Bachelor in Dental Science from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, and completed specialist postgraduate training in Paediatric Dentistry at Queen Mary University of London, United Kingdom, where he was awarded a Doctor in Clinical Dentistry (DClinDent). He also holds the MFDS and MPaed Dent from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. His clinical and academic interests include paediatric and special care dentistry, dental trauma, behaviour management and the care of medically compromised children and adolescents. At Universiti Malaya, he is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical supervision, curriculum development and assessment. His research interests encompass dental age estimation, digital dentistry and special care dentistry. His research has been presented at the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry (EAPD) and published in the field of forensic and dental age estimation. He is also involved in research developing sensory-adaptive dental environments and autism-focused care pathways to improve oral healthcare for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. His academic work is driven by evidence-based, patient-centred approaches and the integration of innovative technologies to enhance paediatric oral healthcare.
