Aisya Abdul Rahman is an experienced practitioner and has worked with diverse stakeholders to promote the rule of law at international and national levels. Through her transversal roles, including with the International Committee of the Red Cross and Human Rights Commission of Malaysia, she has guided and supported decisionmakers, policymakers, and practitioners in understanding and applying international humanitarian law and human rights law. She has also actively contributed to regional and national lawmaking and policymaking processes; coordinated translation of relevant treaties to national language and contexts; facilitated high-level humanitarian dialogues; developed localised informational tools and materials; and delivered humanitarian assistance in places of detention. She has also assisted rule of law, human rights and development projects including in/on Colombia, Ukraine, Scotland, and South Sudan. During her four-year practice at the Malaysian Bar, Aisya acted as counsel and represented clients in over 15 reported cases at Malaysia's highest courts, including a landmark workplace sexual harassment case.
