Dr. Adibi M. Nor is a marine biologist and aquaculturist with 20 years of experience in fisheries. His work focuses on sustainable seaweed commercialisation and its impact on Malaysian coastal communities. He served in Malaysia’s Department of Fisheries from 2003 to 2018, contributing to national seaweed policy development. Now a senior lecturer and coordinator at Universiti Malaya, he specializes in food security and aquaculture. Dr. Adibi has published extensively on seaweed and fisheries, reviewing for top journals. He has worked as a consultant and business advisor in aquaculture, actively promoting seaweed as a nature-based solution. His research explores innovative farming techniques like Integrated Multitrophic Aquaculture (IMTA) to enhance production while reducing environmental impact. He has also contributed to improving seaweed disease management and extracting valuable compounds for industries like food, cosmetics, and bioplastics.
