Dr. Adelina Asmawi is an Associate Professor at Universiti Malaya, and Adjunct Professor at Northeast Forestry University, China, and Seiyun University, Yemen. Her expertise spans TESOL, instructional technology, professional development, and creative teaching. She earned her PhD in Professional Development of Teachers, TESOL, and Instructional Technology from the University of Melbourne, Australia, and has held leadership roles including Head of Department (2018–2022) and Deputy Dean (2014–2017). Dr. Adelina’s research advances innovative educational practices, including co-developing the Developmental Instructional Supervision Module and leading interdisciplinary projects like a smoking prevention app for children. She founded the PEARL Project (Pedagogy of English Language Acquisition among uRban Poor Learners) in 2018, which integrates English language acquisition with digital, financial, and STEM literacy for marginalized communities (2018 - ongoing). An accomplished author, she has published eight books, including Revolutionizing Language Education (2024) and Digital Translanguaging for Global Learners (2025). Her accolades include the Melbourne Graduate School International Alumni Award (2020), VIWA Outstanding Woman in Humanities and Social Sciences (2019), and multiple Platinum Medals for educational innovation.
