Associate Professor Dr. Nurhidayah Abdullah is an accomplished legal scholar, policy advisor, and researcher specializing in commercial law, contract law, and labor policy. Holding a PhD from The University of Sydney Business School and an LL.B and MCL from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), she combines robust academic rigor with practical expertise as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. Her national impact is highlighted by her leadership as the head of the consultancy team for the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) on the Policy and Legal Framework for the Gig Economy in Malaysia, which directly shaped the Gig Workers Act 2025. She currently serves on the Gig Advisory Council (MPGig) under KESUMA and recently edited the landmark publication "Ekonomi Gig: Antara Fleksibiliti dan Realiti". Internationally recognized for her scholarship in commercial and contract law, Dr. Nurhidayah authored "Good Faith in Contractual Performance in Australia" (Palgrave Macmillan) and has advised key national institutions, including delivering a specialized lecture to the judiciary at the Palace of Justice and serving as a Resource Person on national contract law reform.
