Collins Chong's key focus areas are in foreign affairs, security, and strategic studies, with a core specialisation on great power competition, the US-China rivalry, and global security dynamics, including analyzing America’s power superiority, Indo-Pacific security affairs and broader geopolitical and security trends shaping the international order.

He provides insights through media features and op-eds and was featured across leading international platforms, including Financial Times,NBC News, Associated Press, The Independent, The Washington Post, Japan Times, Channel News Asia, Taipei Times, WION TV, and South China Morning Post, among others.
