BIOGRAPHY


Dr. Chee is a Senior Lecturer at the Nanotechnology and Catalysis Research Centre, Universiti Malaya, where he earned his Ph.D. in organic chemistry in 2011. With a strong commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and solving complex challenges, he actively encourages collaboration to drive meaningful outcomes.

Prior to joining academia, he was a senior scientist at Aurigene Discovery Technologies, and a research associate at Cancer Research Malaysia. He has been a visiting scholar at Harvard University in 2016, and the University of New South Wales in 2008. Throughout his career, he has been engaged in diversed research teams, fostering an environment for open communication and mutual respect.

His research primarily focuses on drug discovery, medicinal chemistry and small molecules synthesis. Additionally, he passionately explores biomaterials, drug delivery and nanomedicine, with a special emphasis on developing small molecules for the treatment of cancer and microbial infections. He sincerely welcomes opportunities with like-minded individuals and research groups. He believes that through diverse perspectives and collective efforts, groundbreaking advancements can be achieved in the field of drug discovery.
