BIOGRAPHY

Chang Lee Wei (Chris) is currently a Senior Research Officer (Q52) at the Universiti Malaya Centre for Civilisational Dialogue (UMCCD). His works are now much related and involved with administrative and management duties, as well as research and publishing works related to articulating values that may be the basis of a common platform for solving issues and problems universally encountered across and within cultures and civilisations. Chris is currently the editor to a few international journals, e.g. Journal of Research Management & Governance (JRMG), Journal of KATHA and Jurnal Peradaban. 

Chris started his service at UM as a Social Research Officer (N41) with the Centre for Civilisational Dialogue in August 2009 and as a Senior Research Officer (Q47) at the Centre of Research for Computational Sciences & Informatics for Biology, Bioindustry, Environment, Agriculture, and Healthcare (CRYSTAL) later on from the year 2015 - 2017 before joining the Research Cluster Coordinator Office, UM in 2017 - 2018. Before Chris re-joined his service at the Centre for Civilisational Dialogue in November 2021, he also served the Centre for Research Services (PPP) from 2018 - 2021 on works related to research promotion.

Chris graduated from the Department of Science and Technology Studies, Faculty of Science, UM, with a Bachelor of Science in 2009 and Master of Philosophy from Institute of Graduate Studies, UM, in 2016. He was also one of the Malaysian youth delegates at the 1st Global Model United Nations (GMUN) in Malaysia (2nd edition of the Global Model United Nations Conference) held on 14-18 August 2010 and his other affiliations include Universiti Malaya UNESCO Club (UMUC) and Malaysian Universities UNESCO Club (MUUC). Chris also received the Data Stewardship Award as an exemplary participants from the Training of Trainers for Data Stewardship on Open Science programme from the Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, which recognises his exceptional contributions to the improvement of scientific data stewardship of the MOSP on May 16, 2023. His main research interests are developing a mobile educational application, national unity, civilisational dialogue, dialogue towards peace, bioethics, and transgenderism in Malaysia.
