MR. RIZQULLAH AL. BARIQ BIN AZMI

Rizqullah Al Bariq bin Azmi, born on 18 September 1999 in Alor Setar, Kedah and currently residing in Bayan Lepas, Penang, is presently serving as the Curator of the Tan Sri Dr. Lim Wee Chai Medical Museum. He is an alumnus of the Department of History, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya, where he began his undergraduate studies in 2019 and consistently demonstrated academic excellence, receiving the Dean’s Award every semester. He was further recognised with two prestigious honours upon graduation: the Gold Medal from the Malaysian Historical Society and the Datuk Panglima Kinta Eusoff Gold Medal. He is currently pursuing his Master’s degree at the Academy of Malay Studies (APM), University of Malaya, with a focus on heritage, cultural studies, and institutional history.

Throughout his academic career, Rizqullah held various leadership positions, including President of the University of Malaya History Society, Chairperson of the Penang State Student Council (Majlis Mahasiswa Anak Negeri Pulau Pinang), Assistant Director of the REAL (Regan Experience Asli Life) project, and Student Peer Facilitator at the Third Residential College. His professional experiences include roles in the food and beverage industry, a production role at DHL, and a MySTEP officer position at the Department of Statistics Malaysia (Penang). Since his appointment as Curator in 2023, he has been instrumental in the redevelopment and revitalisation of the Medical Museum in collaboration with the Director of the Museum of Asian Art. He also led the museum’s successful participation in the National Museum Day Festival (HMA 2025) held at the Paddy Museum in Kedah and was a recipient of the Consolation Prize at the Innovation and Creativity Carnival (KIK) 2024. His research interests lie in the areas of medical history, museum curation, heritage management, and the coordination of public history exhibitions and educational programmes.
