Professor Jason Chuah FRSA SFHEA holds the Chair of Commercial and Maritime Law at the City Law School, UK. He has recently been appointed as a Dean of Faculty of Law at the University of Malaya, Malaysia. He was the holder of the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Award, Barclays Bank Scholarship and the Cambridge Commonwealth Fellowship at Cambridge University. His PhD looked at the influence of the need for commercial certainty on the judicial development of commercial and maritime law. He also has a Professional Certificate in Export with Distinction from the UK Institute of Export. He holds a First Class Hons degree in Law from the University of Malaya. He has written thirteen books and well over 200 articles. He is editor of several international journals, including the Journal of International Maritime Law, International Company and Commercial Law Review, International Trade Law and Regulation, Shipping & Trade Law, International Transport Law Review, and Finance & Credit Law. He has served on research councils in the UK, South Africa, Poland, Canada and Colombia. His work has been cited by institutions in the UK, US, EU and Asia. He is also Executive Director of the London Universities Maritime Law and Policy Group. He has been involved in various consultations with the Ministry of Justice, the OECD, the ICC, the Association of British Insurers, the UNCITRAL, etc.
show more »Dr Nortina Shahrizaila graduated from University of Nottingham Medical School, UK in 1997. She went on to complete her general medical training, specialist neurology training and doctorate degree in the UK before returning to Malaysia in 2009. As part of her specialist neurology and neurophysiology training, she worked at tertiary neurology centres including Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London. She is currently employed as Consultant Neurologist at University Malaya Medical Centre as well as Professor of Neurology at University of Malaya. She has subspecialty clinical and research interests in the field of peripheral neuropathies, motor neurone disease/amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and peripheral neurophysiology. She is the current Secretary of the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology (IFCN) and Associate Editor of Clinical Neurophysiology Practice. She is also the President-Elect of the Pan-Asian Consortium for Treatment and Research in ALS (PACTALS).
show more »Tengku Adeline Hamzah is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Geography, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. She obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree in Environmental Governance from Durham University, UK in 2011. Her research interests revolve around the broad issues of environmental governance particularly related to waste governance, natural resource governance, climate risk and governance, and ESG. She has produced numerous publications in academic journals, chapter in books, conference papers and technical reports. She also served as supervisors and examiners to post graduate candidates. Tengku Adeline is often invited to deliver keynote speeches at local and international institutions. Apart from that, she is also a teaching and learning strategy expert, and has conducted numerous workshops and sessions on Outcome-based Education (OBE) at higher learning institutions. She is also entrusted to hold several administrative posts at department, faculty and university levels.
