BIOGRAPHY

I am Saravanan hail from Tamilnadu, India and leads the  “Environmental Nanomaterials” research group in the Department of Civil Engineering, i am  fascinated in developing modified Nano photocatalysts for sustainable environmental and energy applications. My Aficionado centered at the intersection of unveiling the insight of materials chemistry and implementation predominantly for removal of lethal organic pollutants like EDCs and POPs, reduction of  CO2 to Methane and water split reaction using both solar light and artificial visible light. I also established state-of art analytical facility for environmental engineering research worth RM 2.5million and heading the “Water and Environmental Cluster” .

Presently I am a core faculty in Department of Civil Engineering and active research member of Nanotechnology & Catalysis Research Center (NANOCAT), University of Malaya since Feb 2010. Prior to UM I  worked as Assistant professor, Department of Chemical Technology, Politechnika Gdańska, Poland; Department of Chemical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Thiruchirappalli, INDIA.

I have published more than 40 articles in reputed peer reviewedJournals with a cumulative impact factor of 85, an H-index (WOS) of 10 with 400+ citations.  I am also an active reviewer for leading journals published by RSC, ACS, ELSEVIER, and hold professional membership with Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE) and Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE).
